Today’s existential threats to human and planetary health - such as climate change – require more effective and innovative ways of governance especially at the global level. To commemorate Earth Month this April, this conversation will reflect on the current state of global governance and the challenges we face, distill lessons learned from tackling other global health problems, and explore emerging opportunities for safeguarding our collective future. This is a hybrid event - in person and online. Speaker: Suerie Moon, PhD Visiting Professor at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute (SDGHI) and Centre for Outbreak Preparedness (COP); Professor of Practice in International Relations & Political Science at the Geneva Graduate Institute Suerie Moon is Visiting Professor with the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute and Centre for Outbreak Preparedness. She is also Professor of Practice in International Relations & Political Science at the Geneva Graduate Institute, where she co-directs the Global Health Centre. Her research lies at the intersection of global governance and public health. For the past 25 years, she has researched policies for improving global access to medicines, including fair pricing, intellectual property management, technology transfer, local production and alternative innovation models. She also studies the global governance of outbreaks and pandemics, with a focus since 2021 on the intergovernmental negotiations towards a Pandemic Agreement. Moderated by: Renzo R.
