Participation Form

  • Dear Graduating & Recently Graduated Students,

Warmest Greetings from the NUS Graduate School!

If you are still unsure of what to do after your graduation or have yet to find your dream job/post-doc positions or would like to explore better opportunities, we are excited to organise for you the inaugural ‘2022 Virtual NUS PhDShow!’, a virtual ‘flipped career fair’, where the excellent research, achievements, talents and aspirations of our graduating and recently graduated PhD students will be showcased to the world. This ‘2022 Virtual NUS PhDShow!’ will indeed be a great opportunity for potential investors, collaborators, employers as well as those looking for quality post-doctoral trainees to view quality research of our PhD students (ie you!) and identify appropriate talents from NUS.

There are 3 main aims for this 2022 NUS PhDShow!:
    1. Career Fair with a novel twist (ie Flipped Career Fair):
Instead of ‘booths’ featuring/marketing different employers, this time, it would be the graduating and recently graduated PhD students who will have ‘booths’ to market themselves by presenting their PhD research, amongst other accomplishments, talents, and aspirations they have, to potential investors, leading employers from industry or even PIs looking to train quality post-doctoral fellows. It will help graduating and newly graduated students learn to present themselves and their research on digital platform which is now an important platform of communication
    2. Outreach Event:
This event is timed to occur just before the actual ‘NUS Graduate E-Open Day 2022’ to showcase the quality of our PhD students and their research to prospective students to enable us to attract high-calibre candidates into our graduate programs.
    3. Academic Networking Platform:
Often academic faculty, researchers and graduate students at NUS are only aware of the research of PhD students in their own labs or their department/close collaborators, etc. This fair is an opportunity for everyone at NUS (or in other local / overseas Universities) to have a bird’s eye view of the research works of graduating/recently graduated NUS PhD students, possibly fostering new collaboration.
In this PhDShow!, each student will be allocated a “virtual booth” where you can exercise your utmost creativity in “exhibiting” your PhD research work via posters and videos, share your accomplishments, talents, career aspirations and resume if you wish to. Your Zoom link will have unlimited duration on this event day, and interested visitors ((including Investors, University/Research PIs, potential employers, etc) will be able to engage 1-on-1 with you at any time of the day, apart from browsing or searching for specific students of their interest to view the published content.

This registration form is where you can enter the information to present and "market" yourself, your research, talents and aspirations to potential employers, collaborators, investors and institutions offering post-doctoral traineeships.

Please provide as honest information as you can so that your booth can most accurately present you.
