It is timely for NUS-ISS to work closely with SBF to promote the adoption of relevant skill sets for the digital economy. This partnership with NUS-ISS will empower our businesses with the tools and knowledge to build better digital transformation strategies that incorporate technologies, organisational cultures and mindsets. This will enable businesses to implement digital transformation with tangible results so that none are left behind.”

The collaboration encompasses the following areas:

  1. Skills for Transformation Programme

The Skills for Transformation Programme is a full-suite skills development programme specifically developed to support companies that are keen to embark on a digital transformation journey and are interested to develop their in-house talent to become change agents. Working with mentors from NUS Business School and NUS-ISS, a multi-faceted approach which comprises the design, training and acquisition as well as implementation stages will help prepare employees for transformation. An example would be a Small Medium Enterprise with a brick and mortar business exploring ways to bring its business online.

Larger companies can also tap on the programme. “As an innovative supply chain and logistics software company, we are constantly looking to leverage knowledge-based technology partners such as NUS-ISS to improve our existing methodologies and technologies to equip our workforce with the most pertinent skill set to compete in tomorrow’s market. This program would be a means and not just an end to supply chain innovation, in reinventing the way

Y3 impacts the region and beyond,” shares Dr. Yap Chih Nam, General Manager,
Product Development, Y3 Technologies Pte Ltd

  2. Digital Competency Roadmap

NUS-ISS will propose a Digital Competency Training Roadmap, which is a leadership-level training course, to help business owners map out their digitalisation strategy with a focus on training in the areas of Agility, Innovation and Data. The programme is designed to empower businesses with the necessary tools to grow their business with innovative digital ideas and a strong customer-centric journey.

  3. Professional Diploma in Digitalisation

The Professional Diploma in Digitalisation, jointly awarded by NUS-ISS and SBF, will be developed. The programme comprises five courses and a capstone project targeted at individuals ready to lead digitalisation projects in the industry and organisations. The
four-month capstone project will demonstrate the skills learnt from the five courses towards a digitalisation project work for the organisation. The Professional Diploma, which certifies a participant’s mastery level, will be awarded at the completion of the capstone project.

Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs) namely, Nanyang Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Republic Polytechnic, Singapore Polytechnic and Temasek Polytechnic will also play a vital role in the skills ecosystem by complementing these digital transformation initiatives with their individual courses and consulting frameworks for greater synergy.
